Service

Being of service is an absolute act of worship. This is a time in which is in observance of Memorial Day that is held in the United States about this time of year and it is to honor and remember our servicemen and women. You may forget that these brave and honorable beings are serving or have served not only our great country and our freedom here in the United States, but a service to the great law of all life, to the supreme whole that proliferates every atom of space. You see dear friend, when the service is done consciously it is performing a service as an act of worship, and in so doing the spirit of the living God/Source is doing the work that is appointed and perfecting that which concerns all beings. You in fact may be asking why? Because you are no longer working for the little self, for the gratification of the ego. For instance, you may be standing in the kitchen preparing a meal, attending to an infant, or delivering a great speech or sermon. These acts are not as important as the consciousness in which the act takes place. So, wherever you are placed to be of service, such as our servicemen and women and if you perform your dharma, right action, with the proper inward attitude you are supported and inspired by the Infinite. Oh, my sweet friend, that is why Brother Lawrence could say that while he was serving food to his brother monks, he experienced deep ecstasy. He never let his gaze fall below the horizon of the reason for his activity to serve the Beloved that resides in all beings. When you open yourself to service, whether it is volunteering at a convalescent home, a shelter, or your country, you make yourself available for a deeper realization that it is the One serving the One. No longer is there in your consciousness a sense of service and to be served, there is only the face of the Divine looking into the face of the Divine, God serving God. Then the time you spend in meditation and prayer is not separate from any other aspect of your life. All your activities, large or small, become sacred offerings. Without any doubt our Military personnel then, now and to come are very sacred offerings. With this absolute knowingness, they are deeply blessed and held in the highest vibrations. Have a great day!
Your Treatment / Prayer
“Great Spirit, thank you for the rich web of life in which I am a strand. Help me appreciate how all the strands of the web are connected with such elegance, such grace. Whenever I go to use something this day, whether it’s a grocery bag, the clothes I am wearing, my mode of transportation, or even my phone, thanks for helping me to appreciate how many forces of nature, how many human hands, what Divine Wisdom has gone into these creations. And so it is.”
